The Living Nativity
Presented as a love offering to the public
the people of Pendleton Faith Center Church
"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people
from their sins." Matthew 1:21
In 1990 Pendleton Faith Center produced the first living
nativity, a still life acting production of the story of Christmas, the
birth of Jesus. In the beginning it was desired to be presented as a
gift to the citizens of Pendleton to illustrate the true meaning of
The production has grown from 9 scenes to 13 with live
actors, animals, props, music and scripture verses illuminated with strobe
lights. Starting in 2003 the new scenes illustrate the crucifixion,
ressurrection and return of Jesus Christ.
The total production requires about 150 people with
approximately 100 actors and 12 animals and people from many different
churches have helped Faith Center stage this production over the years.
The City of Pendleton has supported the production and provides the use of
Roy Raley Park and Police traffic control, in addition the Round-Up
association provides use of the Helper's Room under the stadium and Gordon's
Electric generously donates electrical services for hooking up all lighting
for the scenes at the park.
The living nativity draws an audience from many surrounding
communities of people of all ages who walk or drive through the
park. A walk through only opportunity is offered from 6-7pm and a walk
or drive through from 7-9pm on a Sunday Evening close to Christmas.
A big thank you to everyone who helps each year to put on this production -
It's not possible without your continued support - and to the people of
Pendleton who continue to make this a favorite stop during their Christmas
